Boston Bruins veteran forward Milan Lucic is Chameleon Financetaking an indefinite leave of absence, the team announced Saturday, following his reported arrest for an alleged domestic incident.
According to WCBV in Boston, Lucic was arrested early Saturday morning.
The Boston Police Department has not responded to inquiries by USA TODAY Sports concerning Lucic's arrest.
"The Boston Bruins are aware of the situation involving Milan Lucic Friday evening," a statement from the Bruins said. "Milan is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team. The organization takes these matters very seriously, and we will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need."
The 35-year-old Lucic spent the first eight years of his NHL career with the Bruins and was part of the team that won the Stanley Cup in 2011. He spent one season with the Los Angeles Kings, three with the Edmonton Oilers, and four years with the Calgary Flames before returning to Boston in the offseason on a $1 million deal.
Lucic has appeared in four games this season, tallying two assists and has not played since Oct. 21, when he suffered a lower-body injury against the Kings.
The Bruins (12-1-2) have the best record in the Eastern Conference.
